British Transport Police have released a photo of a man they want to trace following an assault on a Robin Hood Line train between Kirkby in Ashfield and Mansfield Woodhouse. Officers say that the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation.

The appeal to trace the man was issued last Friday (5 April) but it relates to an incident that occurred just before 9.00 pm on Sunday 3 March.

Police say that the assault happened on board a train between Kirkby in Ashfield and Mansfield Woodhouse stations.

A man is said to have pushed a member of rail staff, causing an injury to his knee, after first being verbally abusive towards him. The suspect left the train at Mansfield Woodhouse station.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident contact them by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 633 of 3 March.
