A fish and chip shop just outside Kirkby in Ashfield town centre has been rated amongst the top three in Nottinghamshire. The Jolly Fryer in Low Moor Road was given the accolade by online review service Three Best Rated.
“The Jolly Fryer stands out as a beloved fish and chip shop that places a strong emphasis on both quantity and quality, and they take pride in consistently delivering on this commitment”, the website’s review says. “This restaurant is dedicated to serving high-quality dishes prepared with meticulous care and top-notch ingredients, ensuring that customers receive exceptional meals every day.
“They offer a comprehensive selection of classic chip shop favourites, along with enticing specials that provide great value for you and your family. One of their signature dishes, the Jolly Special, comprises mini fish, chips, and a small sausage, accompanied by your choice of peas, curry, gravy, or beans.”
The Jolly Fryer is open between 11.30 am and 9.30 pm Monday to Saturday. It has the top level five Food Hygiene Rating and allows customers to order online for click and collect or delivery.
The Three Best Rated website was created in 2014 by the US media company Signature Profit, based in Austin, Texas. Its stated aim is “a simple goal to find you the top three local tradesmen such as professionals, restaurants, health care providers, etc, in key towns.”
They say that “our employees handpick the top three local tradesmen. We check business’s reviews, reputation, history, complaints, ratings, satisfaction, proximity, trust, cost and general excellence, etc, using a 50-Point inspection.
“We display only businesses that are verified by our employees. You could call it ‘due diligence’ or ‘common sense’”.
The other two Nottinghamshire chippy’s sharing top billing with the Jolly Fryer on the Three Best Rated are both based in Wollaton, Nottingham: The Cod’s Scallops in Bramcote Lane and the Wollaton Fish Bar in Russell Drive.
