Sutton woman amongst three people charged after Mansfield car theft

Police have charged three people after stopping a suspected stolen car in Mansfield just minutes after it was reported missing. Those arrested include Dominique Mason, 34, of Outram Street in Sutton in Ashfield. She has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and burglary.

The other two suspects are Jaycie Bennett, 34, of Greenwood Avenue in Mansfield, and Collins Fearon, 52, of no fixed address. Bennett has been charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, and possession of a Class B drug. Fearon faces charges of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and going equipped for burglary.

The car they were travelling in was reported missing from an address in Alcock Avenue, Mansfield, at 9.00 pm last Wednesday (15 May). Moments later police stopped the suspected stolen car in Southwell Road West and arrested the three occupants.

The three appeared before magistrates in Nottingham on Friday and will next appear before a judge in Nottingham Crown Court on Friday 14 June.

“Officers on routine patrol responded extremely quickly to this report”, Detective Sergeant Matt Dumbrell of Nottinghamshire Police said. “After a lot of hard work by detectives, I am pleased we have now been able to charge these three suspects.”
