A beauty salon in Hucknall is in line for nine national awards this weekend at the prestigious UK Hair and Beauty Awards ceremony. The Beauty Garden, in Central Walk, Hucknall, has been open for just 18 months and Best New Salon is one of the categories the team are hoping to win.

They have also reached the final of the Best Team Salon; while members of the team are finalist in individual categories: Demi is hoping to win Best for Blonde and Best for Hair Extensions; while Emma, Chyanelle and Magda are all competing for the Best Beauty Therapist category. Magda is also in line for the Best New Talent Award and Beth is a finalist in Best for Aesthetics.

“We are so excited for the awards”, owner Amelia Cook said. “The Beauty Garden  has been open around 18 months now and is going from strength to strength . We have an amazing group of girls at the salon which includes – beauty therapist, stylists, aesthetics, doctors, and nurse practitioners.

“We are so excited. it’s a massive achievement to be finalist but fingers and toes are crossed we make it to the top 10 in the UK. That would be amazing.”

She added: “I am very proud of all the girls at The Beauty Garden for consistently working hard and providing the best services.”

In addition to providing beauty treatments, the salon operates as a training academy for up-and-coming beauticians. Before the Beauty Garden opened, Amelia Cook was operating from a converted garage in her home. The salon in Central Walk was opened to provide much needed additional space.
