The official list of candidates for Ashfield and Sherwood Forest constituencies have been published, with six candidates in Ashfield and seven in Sherwood Forest.
Most residents of Ashfield will vote in the Ashfield constituency, but residents in the four Hucknall wards of Hucknall Central, Hucknall North, Hucknall South and Hucknall West will vote in the Sherwood Forest constituency.
Officials at Ashfield District Council are responsible for organising the election in Ashfield constituency; while the Sherwood Forest constituency election is being managed by officials at Newark and Sherwood District Council.

Register to vote
All Ashfield residents, regardless of which constituency they are in, need to be on the electoral register maintained by Ashfield District Council to vote in the election. If you received an ballot for last month’s Police and Crime Commissioner or East Midlands Mayoral elections, you already on the electoral register.
The deadline to register is Tuesday 18 June. You can register online at gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Voter ID
All voters who turn up at a polling station will need to show approved photo-ID before they are handed a ballot paper. The authorised list of acceptable forms of ID is available at electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/voter-id.
If you do not have an acceptable form of ID, you can obtain a free Voter Authority Certificate to use as ID. This can be requested online at gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate. The deadline for requesting a Voter Authority Certificate is 5.00 pm on Wednesday 26 June.
Postal and Proxy Voting
You can request to vote by post by using the online form at gov.uk/apply-postal-vote. The deadline to request a postal vote is 5.00 pm on Wednesday 19 June.
You can apply for a proxy vote – in effect nominating somebody to vote on your behalf – by completing the online form at gov.uk/apply-postal-vote. The deadline for this is 5.00 pm on Wednesday 26 June.
An emergency proxy vote can be requested until 5.00 pm on polling day, 4 July. But in order to do this a completed application form needs to be submitted to the council offices. There are separate forms for illness, employment, or photo ID.
